Jackson was brought in by new head coach Jim Schwartz, formerly the Titans' defensive coordinator, to stuff the run. He's well past his prime, but should draw enough attention to free things up for the Detroit 'backers.
After a lawsuit against the Falcons shed some doubt on Jackson’s future in Atlanta, the dispute was resolved in June, clearing the way for the behemoth tackle to return this season. He undoubtedly provides a boost to the Falcons’ team defense, but as an IDP his job of taking up space in the middle doesn’t translate into fantasy numbers.
Jackson will be an early-down run stopper on the Falcons' defensive line.
Jackson can be one of the top DT in the league when he's healthy and motivated. The problem is that it doesn't happen often enough. The Packers are going to be very careful with him this preseason and really limit his plays in the hopes that he can last the entire season.
