Carr was released by the Saints on Tuesday, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carr's playing time had all but dried up in recent weeks, and he notched just 16 tackles (11 solo) in his first nine games of the season. He may have to wait until the offseason before receiving any sort of serious offer from another club.

Carr will compete for a roster spot at cornerback.
Carr played just nine games for Baltimore last year amid hamstring issues and was released after the season. He could start at cornerback for a Vikings secondary that struggled last season. If healthy, he could have a major impact as he may have been Baltimore's best corner in 2011 when he racked up a career-high 61 tackles to go along with two picks and three forced fumbles.
Carr started every game last season for the Ravens out of necessity. Healthier starters should push him further down the depth chart. Not that he was a sterling IDP option to begin with.
Carr will see the field as kick returner and a potential dime back. Though he may see more action in the beginning of the season as defensive backs fight to get healthy, his value is in the basement as an IDP.
Carr should see the field in occasional nickelback duty, otherwise he holds even more fantasy value in leagues that take into account special teams. Carr averaged 28.1 yards per kickoff return for the Titans last season.
Carr will most likely be the Titans' kickoff returner.
Back up CB
Carr is only a third string cornerback, but again stands to serve as Oakand's primary kick and punt returner for 2006. As a rookie in 2005 Carr ranked 14th in the NFL by running back kicks at a 24 yards per return clip. He was 24th in punt return yardage at 5.5. He runs hard on every return and if he can add big play capabilities (his longest return was 62 yards) to his consistent efforts, he could be an attractive option in leagues that reward return yardage.
Enjoyed a solid training camp and could open the season as the team's primary punt returner.
