ANALYSIS
The team sounded excited to sign him in January even though he's never really done much at the pro level, but he never made much noise in camp. His best bet would seem to be to hook on somewhere as a special teams or deep depth guy.

Considering the speedy Clowney didn't catch a pass in 2011 and had just six catches in 2010, this is obviously a depth signing by the Bills, who have a slew of receivers competing for jobs in training camp. The Bills seem to have an idea for him given that they seemed to go after him pretty hard, but our feeling is his upside gets him a spot on the team as special teams guy and very occasional speed threat in four-wide looks. And he'll have to look good this summer just to get that far.
Clowney is part of a large wide receiver depth chart that seems to dramatically fall off after Steve Smith. While there will be plenty of competition for the starting job opposite Smith, Clowney will likely not be in the picture.
The Jets apparently aren't expecting too much from Clowney, given that they acquired Santonio Holmes in the offseason and are close to adding Laveranues Coles in late July. Planets will have to move before Clowney has any significant fantasy value in 2010.
Clowney, who opened eyes last summer in training camp, but then was slowed by a collarbone injury, will compete with Chansi Stuckey (the favorite) and Brad Smith to start alongside Jericho Cotchery in the Jets' offense.
He's speedy but raw, still looking to work his way off special teams and the practice squad. Even in deeper groups, Clowney shouldn't be on your radar until we see him crack the Top 4 in New York.
Clowney excelled as a speed receiver in three seasons for Virginia Tech, amassing 93 catches with six touchdowns. Clowney will likely settle in as the fourth or fifth wide receiver position for the Packers in 2007.
