One of the bigger draft busts of recent memory, Gholston will try to jump start his career in a new city and a new scheme. Though he may have to prove himself on special teams before getting a shot on the defensive line.
With Calvin Pace serving a four-game suspension to start the regular season, Gholston should get a chance to strut his stuff at outside linebacker. The sixth overall choice in the 2008 draft is coming off a disappointing rookie year, but early on in camp, he has caught the eye of new coach Rex Ryan.
Gholston played mostly defensive end at Ohio State, but will lineup as ROLB for the Jets' 3-4 scheme. He recorded 14 sacks in 2007 with the Buckeyes and could make a push for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
