Hill is more of a run-blocking tight end than he is a threat as a receiver. He never got himself healthy enough to make an impact and was eventually waived in the 2011 preseason.
Hill is coming off a season-ending knee injury (torn ACL) and will have enough on his plate to get healthy enough to participate in training camp. The Texans have added several tight ends in the offseason and if Hill isn't ready to compete, he could be out of a job by September.
Hill was selected 122nd overall mainly because the Texans liked his ability to block. Mark Bruener had been the primary blocker at the position, but retired after the 2008 season. Owen Daniels is the most preferred target at tight end, but Hill could find himself on the field as the second tight end.
