Finley is a bit of a long shot to make an impact, but there are also reasons to like his chances. The main reason is that he had a very good season last year, running for 1,218 yards and 12 touchdowns. That includes a few impressive performances against tough defenses. He ran for 430 yards and five touchdowns on 72 carries (5.97 yards per carry) against Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Illinois. Those four defenses combined to allow an average of about 3.8 yards per carry last year. It's tough to see him overtaking Bernard Scott and Cedric Benson (if Benson gets re-signed) right away, but Finley might do fairly well if he does get a good amount of carries for one reason or another.
