Da'Rick Rogers: Released By Chiefs

Rogers was released by the Chiefs on Tuesday, Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports.

ANALYSIS
The former five-star recruit had a shaky college career that was largely notable for off-field issues, and he then went undrafted in 2013. Rogers has since spent time with the Bills, Colts and Chiefs, but he didn't get on the field last season. He'll turn 24 Thursday, and he shouldn't have much trouble finding another opportunity to compete for a roster spot.

Off-field issues and character concerns kept Rogers from being drafted last year, but he clawed his way up through the Colts' practice squad to post decent numbers in five games. He's certainly got the size and talent to succeed in the NFL if he stays on the straight and narrow, but with Reggie Wayne returning and Hakeem Hicks and Donte Moncrief now in Indy, Rogers isn't guaranteed to see an increase in his snaps.

Signed with the Colts' practice squad in September of 2013 after being cut by the Bills. It was a surprise to many when Rogers was undrafted in April. He has great size and speed to go with polished route running.
