ANALYSIS
Lyerla's time with the Packers came to an end after he tore the MCL and PCL in his right knee during an Aug. 2 practice. Lyerla joined the Packers as a rookie free agent that went undrafted due to lengthy character concerns. Nonetheless, at 6-4, 242 pounds with a 4.61 40 time, Lyerla is regarded as a "physical marvel" that boasts a combination of size and speed measurables to become an outstanding tight end. Prior to getting booted from Oregon's program, Lyerla racked up 11 touchdowns and 16.6 yards per catch in 27 games. He unfortunately suffered a torn MCL and PCL in his knee during training camp and was waived by the Packers in August. There's still a chance another team could stash him on their practice squad.
