Once a key starter for the Giants, Ross was brought in by the Ravens to compete for the nickleback role behind starters Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith. Unfortunately, his 2014 season was cut short in July by an Achilles' injury.
Reserve cornerback.
Ross' role to begin the season will likely depend on the health of veteran CB Rashean Mathis, who is rehabbing (and reportedly rehabbing well) from a torn ACL. Ross and Mathis will compete for a starting role at left cornerback, though Ross has reportedly worked at all positions and free safety during the offseason. Ross likely won't put up big numbers even if he does succeed Mathis, but he should post respectable IDP stats as a starter.
Ross is a backup corner, but he'll be pushed by first-round draft pick Prince Amukamara.
Will likely back up Terrell Thomas and Corey Webster at cornerback.
Ross returns as the Giants' starting left cornerback. Because he struggled at times last season, look for teams to throw his way more often than Corey Webster's, so Ross could bring in a few picks and make a couple extra tackles.
Last year's first-round pick came on in the second half of 2007, and will start opposite Sam Madison this year. A rising star at the position.
The Giants' first round draft pick in 2007, Ross will vie with Corey Webster for a starting job opposite Sam Madison. Whatever happens he'll see time on the field in nickel and dime packages and possibly see work as a kick returner.
