November 17, 2015
Wilson (knee) has been placed on season-ending injured reserve, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
ANALYSIS
With Rashean Mathis (concussion) already on injured reserve and Nevin Lawson (concussion) in danger of missing Week 11, the Lions badly need to add depth at a position that wasn't exactly a strength to begin with. Wilson had been serving as the team's nickelback.

Wilson was signed to bring a veteran presence to the Lions' struggling nickel and dime packages. Wilson picked off one pass and defended seven in each of the past two seasons, with Washington and Atlanta, respectively. Look for him to team up with youngsters Quandre Diggs and Nevin Lawson to improve what was a struggling unit for Detroit last season.
Wilson will seem some rotational work in nickel situations, and he may see some playing time on special teams for the Falcons.
Wilson is likely to start opposite DeAngelo Hall in 2013. He recorded 72 tackles, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one sack last year. Expect a similar performance in 2013.
Wilson struggled at times last season and only record two interceptions. He is a bit undersized and often times had to play without both starting safeties behind him. He starts the season as the number two cornerback behind DeAngelo Hall.
Wilson will compete with Kelly Jennings for the right cornerback job. Both should see good action in the Seattle defensive backfield, though neither is exactly a playmaker at this point.
The offseason signing of Ken Lucas moves Wilson back to a nickel spot this year. He'll still get opportunities to contribute, but don't expect a repeat of his four-INT, 76-tackle 2008.
Wilson will be used as a nickelback who should see increased playing time in his second year, though still not enough to receive IDP consideration.
Wilson, the team's top 2007 draft pick, will compete for time in the Seattle secondary. He'll begin the season backing up Kelly Jennings at RCB, seeing most of his time in nickel and dime situations.
