Douglas has been released by the Falcons, FOX Sports 1's Jenna Laine reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

A solid No. 3 receiver for most of his six seasons in Atlanta, Douglas exploded for a 85-1,067-2 receiving line in 2013, when Roddy White and Julio Jones were severely limited by injuries. Douglas doesn't stick out in any one regard, as he's 5-11 with average athletic ability for his position. Still, while there's not a whole lot to get excited about, he's a solid enough player that there will likely be teams with interest in bringing him in as a No. 2 wide receiver. Expectations should remain modest, but a move away from Atlanta could very well boost Douglas's fantasy outlook for 2015.
Douglas is a candidate to be released this offseason, NFL.com reports.

Douglas (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Douglas' weekly output is contingent upon Julio Jones' (hip/oblique) availability, but even with Jones active last Sunday, Douglas managed four catches (on seven targets) for 47 yards. While Jones failed to practice to kick off the week, the absence was likely precautionary, meaning a smaller role may again be in Douglas' future Sunday against the Panthers.

Douglas has typically built up his activity level in drills throughout each week this season. Thus, he's on course to achieve active status Sunday in New Orleans, where he may uphold his relevance from past weeks due to Julio Jones' hip injury.

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

2013

Douglas has scored exactly one touchdown in each season he's been in the league, save for 2009, when he missed the whole season with a torn ACL. Atlanta simply has too many mouths to feed for Douglas to be a consistent fantasy option.

2012

Douglas will work out of the slot again in 2012, and with opposing teams paying close attention to Roddy White and Julio Jones on the outside, the 27-year-old might see an increase in the 64 targets he got last year. Douglas finished 2011 with career highs in receptions (39) and yards (498), but scored just one touchdown. He's got the speed to make some big plays this season, especially if White and Jones are commanding a lot of attention.

2011

After sitting out the 2009 season with a torn ACL, Douglas rebounded in 2010, grabbing 22 receptions for 294 yards and one touchdown. Douglas still showed flashes of speed last season, but he didn't get many opportunities behind the likes of Roddy White, Michael Jenkins and Tony Gonzalez in the Falcons potent offense. The addition of rookie Julio Jones doesn't do anything to help Douglas' stock either. He'll see some action in the slot this season, but the Falcons have many other options they'll be looking to first. Douglas really only has value in deep leagues or if a receiver ahead of him gets hit by the injury bug.

2010

Douglas was a popular sleeper pick before missing the entire 2009 season with a knee injury. If he can stay healthy, he could be a dangerous slot receiver and might even push Michael Jenkins for the starting receiver position.

2009

The sky's the limit for the speedster Douglas, though with Tony Gonzalez expected to hog the short-to-medium range passes, Douglas may have to fight for more chances this season.

2008

Douglas joins the Falcons with an opportunity to take the slot receiver role right out of training camp. He's more of a run-after-the-catch guy than a real deep threat, but he's got just enough size to be effective in red-zone situations will the ability to be a go-to guy on third downs
