RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Munnerlyn's level of play dropped as he moved from Carolina to Minnesota last year, but he's still going to compete against Terence Newman and Trae Waynes for a starting spot opposite lead corner Xavier Rhodes. It's more likely that Munnerlyn will settle in as the team's nickel corner, however.
Munnerlyn parlayed a strong season in Carolina (73 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and two touchdowns) into a three-year, $14.25 million contract with the Vikings. Munnerlyn recorded 61 tackles and two picks in 16 games (including 11 starts) with the Panthers last season. He is expected to serve as the team's top cornerback in 2013.
Will start opposite Chris Gamble at cornerback but isn't expected to have much IDP value given his history of low interceptions and tackles.
Will start opposite Chris Gamble at cornerback and will be used in punt return duties.
Totaled 44 tackles as a rookie backup last year. Not likely to get much playing time unless injuries hit the secondary.
