Irvin's lingering hip issue was finally repaired via surgery last week and now the linebacker will spend the summer rehabbing ahead of the upcoming campaign. While coach Pete Carroll states Irvin should be ready for the beginning of this season, the timing of the surgery will probably cost him some time in training camp and possibly in the preseason as well. The third-year player is primarily a pass-rushing specialist, but with the Seahawks loaded in that department, Irvin needs to expand his skillset to become a more complete IDP consideration.
The initial report on Irvin's hip surgery is positive, as the former first-round pick is expected to be ready before the end of training camp, the CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports.
