Jordan Reed: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

Reed has recovered from the concussion symptoms that landed him on IR at the end of the 2013 season, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Assuming his health, Reed (who finished up his rookie season with 45 catches for 499 yards and three TDs in nine games) is on track to remain a big part of the Redskins' offense in tandem with fellow TE Logan Paulsen, thanks to his fantasy-friendly pass-catching ability.
After seeing a concussion specialist, Reed will be placed on IR by the Redskins.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

It's a predictable outcome, given the Redskins' 3-11 record and Reed's lingering symptoms. In his absence for the team's final two contests, Logan Paulsen and Fred Davis will head the Redskins' TE corps. They'll both benefit from a favorable matchup in Week 16, with the visiting Cowboys struggling to contain the passing game.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Clearance from the league's protocol for head injuries has seemingly not come to pass for the rookie tight end. Headaches continue to plague Reed, and with just two weeks remaining in the season, he could be shut down like teammate Robert Griffin with the future in mind. However, Reed will first meet with an independent neurologist Thursday, Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan in DC reports.
As of Monday -- nearly a month after suffering a concussion -- Reed is still dealing with a headache, the Washington Post reports. "We brought him in on Saturday and he still had a headache [and] had one today as well," coach Mike Shanahan said. "So we'll take a look at him each day. He'll go through the protocol for a concussion and hopefully one day he'll wake up and say, 'Hey, I feel good. I'm ready to go.'"

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

To date, the Redskins have yet to declare any sort of intention to shut Reed down, but with a 3-11 record and only two games left this season, there seems to be no compelling reason to rush the tight end back, as the campaign draws to a close.
Reed (concussion) will not play against Atlanta on Sunday, ESPN980.com reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Reed's concussion has lingered to a rather concerning extent, as he wasn't able to practice at all this week despite already missing three games. Mike Shanahan said Reed hasn't been shut down for the season, but it remains a distinct possibility that Reed might not gain clearance before the regular season's conclusion. Logan Paulsen is likely the busiest Washington tight end as long as Reed sits.
Reed (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Although reports recently surfaced stating Reed would get shut down for the final three games, the Redskins have denied the claim. On paper at least, Reed will follow the same routine heading into this weekend as he did the last three. Due to the fact that his concussion symptoms persistently lingered over that time frame, it's no sure thing that he'll gain clearance in time for Sunday's game.

2013

Reed was an effective pass-catching TE in college and has some sleeper potential as a rookie in Washington, as Fred Davis hasn't exactly exemplified durability.
