Manuel, who suffered through knee injuries that derailed his rookie season, said on an interview with "NFL's Total Access" that he's at full health entering his second NFL training camp. "Obviously, I didnít want to go down with an injury because Iím a competitive player. I go hard each and every time I step on the field. It just so happened that I had to come down with an injury. I moved past it. Thankfully, I am 100 percent healthy right now. I feel like Iím stronger than I was last year, so Iím looking forward to moving on.Ē

EJ Manuel: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

Manuel, who underwent a knee procedure in January, was a full participant Tuesday as the Bills opened their offseason workouts, ESPN.com reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

While the voluntary workouts are limited to strength and conditioning work, the important thing to note here is that Manuel appears past his knee issue. "No limitations," said Manuel, who missed the final two games of the 2013 season with a sprained LCL. "I feel great." Looking ahead to the coming season, Manuel will have an intriguing new wideout target to throw to in former Buccaneer Mike Williams, plus there's a solid chance that the team will also upgrade at tight end in next month's NFL draft.
Manuel is currently rehabbing after having undergone minor surgery to repair his left knee, which he injured in Week 15, wgr550.com reports.

This marks the second procedure that Manuel has had on his left knee in the past six months. The young QB also had a torn meniscus repaired back in August. The report adds that going forward, Manuel (who was limited to 10 games in 2013) plans to wear a knee brace and given that his latest surgery occurred in January, the QB figures to be available for the start of the Bills' offseason workouts.
Manuel (left knee, sprained LCL) said Monday that coach Doug Marrone told him he will enter 2014 as the team's starting quarterback, The Buffalo News reports.

The Bills do not feel comfortable putting Manuel (knee) out there for Sunday's finale in New England and Thad Lewis (shoulder) will start at quarterback, BuffaloBills.com reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

We imagine that means Manuel (listed as doubtful by the Bills) will probably not even dress, which is probably for the best as he already has three knee injuries in his rookie season and there's no reason to risk a setback on an injury that should currently heal quickly into what will be an important offseason for Manuel. Lewis will now be the guy who tries to spoils the Patriots' quest for home field throughout the playoffs.
Manuel (knee) took part in Friday's practice, Chris Brown of the Bills' website reports.

Manuel (knee) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice, BuffaloBills.com reports. He shared the starter's reps with backup Thad Lewis.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Coach Doug Marrone has backed way off from his "110 percent" comment from last week over Manuel's availability for Week 17, which is now going to depend on a number of factors, such as how Manuel looks Friday, the weather report, etc. The Bills play in the late set of games Sunday, so hopefully Marrone will clarify the situation sometime before Sunday's first wave of games.

2013

Throughout the entire draft season, it was quarterbacks Geno Smith, Ryan Nassib and Mike Glennon who received the majority of attention from the media. By late April, it was Manuel who got the last laugh as the only quarterback drafted in the first round. If Manuel holds on to job in Buffalo, he also has the best chance of any rookie to provide fantasy-relevant numbers due to his legs, but note that a knee procedure clouds his Week 1 status. Manuel, who rushed for 310 yards and four touchdowns in 2012 at Florida State, could easily eclipse those numbers in the NFL. New coach Doug Marrone also plans to install an up-tempo offense that could lead to more volume in the passing game.
