Signs reserve/future contract
WRKansas City Chiefs
January 8, 2018
The Chiefs signed Braverman to a reserve/future contract Monday, freelance NFL writer Howard Balzer reports.
ANALYSIS
Braverman was signed to Kansas City's practice squad last week, and the Chiefs signing him to a reserve/future contract ensures he'll remain under team control throughout the offseason. The 2016 seventh-rounder possesses a 4.47 40-yard dash time, but his diminutive size (5-foot-10, 177 pounds) could hold him back.

As a rookie in 2016, Braverman saw two targets, but failed to record a reception. The seventh-round draft choice will battle for a roster spot, and he'll face an uphill battle to see regular playing time as part of a crowded depth chart at wide receiver.
After tearing up the Mid-American Conference for 108 receptions, 1,367 yards and 13 touchdowns last year, the Bears spent a seventh round draft pick in the hopes of turning Braverman into a great slot receiver at the NFL level. As a rookie, it's unlikely that he’ll be able to overtake Eddie Royal for a large amount of snaps, and going into camp, he's listed as third on the depth chart at slot receiver behind Royal and Marc Mariani.
