Doctson (Achilles) hopes to be up to full speed by training camp, Stephen Czarda of the team's official site reports. "We took it slow, and I think he's in a good place mentally, and that's half the battle," head coach Jay Gruden said. "We'll continue to gradually build him through OTAs and the mandatory camp, so hopefully we'll get him to full speed in training camp and go from there."

2016

The 22nd overall pick, Doctson is a nice combination of size (6-2, 202), speed (4.5 40), athleticism (131-inch broad jump) and college production (25 TD in his last 23 games). Assuming the Redskins don't cut Pierre Garcon at press time they indicated they'd keep Garcon and DeSean Jackson despite drafting Doctson - it's likely they'll integrate Doctson into the offense gradually. But Jackson doesn't have the frame to be a go-to receiver, and Garcon is a borderline No. 2 at this point in his career, so Doctson could be Kirk Cousins' top target out wide by midseason. Keep in mind, tight end Jordan Reed is the team's star pass catcher, and he'll get most of the work near the end zone.
