The Bears cut Braunecker on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Braunecker put up career numbers with the Bears last season, logging six catches for 59 yards and his first touchdown across 11 games. Despite having showcased a step forward in his development, offseason additions Cole Kmet, Jimmy Graham and Demetrius Harris have now made Braunecker the odd man out in Chicago's crowded tight end room. He hit injured reserve due to a concussion in December, but has since fully recovered and will be free to search for a chance with another organization.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Braunecker signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent last year, and since tight end can be a difficult position for players to acclimate to at the NFL level, it wasn't a major surprise that he caught just four passes for 41 yards. While he saw limited action once Zach Miller suffered a season-ending foot injury in Week 11, Braunecker was unable to take over receiving duties from Daniel Brown. In the offseason, the team added free-agent signee Dion Sims and second-round draft choice Adam Shaheen, which could place Braunecker in a battle for a roster spot. Braunecker will need a number of situations to break his way to build up value in 2017.
