Veteran receiver who will start opposite Reggie Brown, if he's not hampered by Achilles' issues that landed him on injured reserve for the 2005 season.
Pinkston will miss the entire season with a torn Achilles' tendon.
With the trade of James Thrash to the Redskins, Pinkston will now start opposite of Terrell Owens. Pinkston’s numbers declined in 2003 (36 receptions, 575 yards, 2 TDs) despite optimism from his 2002 season (60 receptions, 798 yards, and 7 TDs). With the addition of Owens as the number one receiver to take pressure off of Pinkston, his numbers should return close to his 2002 stats.
It didn't seem to matter to Pinkston who was throwing him the ball last year. He consistently caught it and made plays downfield for the Eagles (team-high 70 catches, 798 yards, seven touchdowns). No one is promoting him as a future Pro Bowler, and at 6-foot-2, 174 pounds, the Eagles would like to see Pinkston bulk up some, but the bottom line here is that Philadelphia has a young, improving receiver on its hands. His height and leaping skills make him a candidate for fade passes around the goal line; don't be surprised if Pinkston makes a run at 8 to 10 touchdowns this fall.
