Mawae is an important part of the Titans' run game and was a 2008 Pro Bowl selection at the center position. He will continue to man the middle in 2009, but will be coming off of a surgery in January to repair a partially torn triceps tendon in his right arm.

Mawae is expected to be the starting center for the Titans. Mawae is a six-time Pro Bowler and is the leader of the Titans' offensive line. He started all 16 games at center last season and helped the Titans rushing offense rank third in the AFC and fifth in the NFL with 2,214 yards.
