RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Jason Webster.
Webster has eight years experience, but whether he can remain healthy is a big question. At the very least, he provides the Patriots with needed cornerback depth in the wake of the free agent departures of Asante Samuel and Randall Gay.
Webster was signed by the Bills this offseason to compete for a starting cornerback spot following the departure of Nate Clements. Webster only played in eight games last season for the Falcons, but started seven of them. He has been a starter for most of his career and should provide the Bills with some steady play as the team's second corner. He has recorded an interception in every season of his career, so he should be counted on for at least one pick. If he wins the job, Webster will play next to Terrence McGee. McGee is a pretty good corner, so Webster could see some action coming his way. As of now, he's the favorite for the starting job after a great offseason (coupled with his experience), though Ashton Youboty and Kiwaukee Thomas offer more size.
Starting cornerback opposite DeAngelo Hall until Jimmy Williams is ready to step in and take over.
Starting right cornerback.
The possible key to the 49ers defense and their shutdown CB. Webster was somewhat inconsistent last year and may be limited early by off-season ankle surgery but should still have close to 80 tackles with 2-3 interceptions.
