Past Fantasy Outlooks
2005
2004
2003
Brown will be used primarily as a kickoff and punt return specialist in 2005. Head Coach Joe Gibbs has hinted that newcomer Santana Moss will also get a chance to return punts during the season. Brown also has an opportunity to compete for playing time as the third wideout but will have to compete with Taylor Jacobs, James Thrash, and Darnerien McCants so don't expect much.
Brown has enough sheer speed that if he ever learns which direction to run as a return man, look out. Because he was cut by the Bills in August, he'll need to get picked up by someone else and he becomes an even bigger long shot.
With Lee Evans now in the wideout picture, Brown's best short-term career bet will be to establish himself as a good return man. Brown has enough sheer speed that if he ever learns which direction to run, look out. Avoid for now as a returner, as his 2003 numbers were a bit disappointing (21.8 yards per kickoff return and 4.4 yards per punt return), but pluck Brown off your free agent list if he shows he’s learned something for his sophomore season.
