Wilson isn't expected to see any targets or even much of the field this season. The Ravens simply have too many bodies at tight end.
Wilson and newly acquired veteran Randy McMichael will both serve as backups to Antonio Gates. The Chargers are hoping that neither see much time on the offense.
Wilson is the third tight end on the depth chart, and he is not expected to make any significant contributions in 2009.
Will likely act as team's No. 3 tight end.
Wilson demonstrated his athleticism in 2006, splitting time between fullback and tight end and playing well at each. The presence of Tony Gonzalez reduces Wilson's fantasy value, but if Gonzalez were to go down, Wilson is a talented enough pass-catcher to become a worthwhile pickup.
Backup tight end.
Though his 2004 rookie season was all but wiped out by a broken fibula, Wilson is poised to make an impact this year. The Chiefs will attempt to use the second-round pick at a number of different positions in an effort to maximize his time on the field. While playing behind Tony Gonzalez will prevent Wilson from being a huge offensive contributor this season, he still figures to play a prominent role in Kansas City's gameplan. Keep an eye on Wilson, who could have big-time fantasy value if Gonzalez misses any time.
Wilson was having a fantastic camp before breaking his left fibula bone in the final preseason game. He's out for at least the first half of the season. With the Chiefs' injury problems at wide receiver, Wilson was being counted on for offensive production, even though he was just a rookie. Now it looks like Wilson will be lucky to produce anything at all in 2004.
