RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Anthony Hargrove.
Hargrove is currently suspended for the first eight games of the 2012 season because of his involvement in Bountygate. When he returns, he will be involved in the Packers defensive line rotation.
Likely to make team as a rotational player at both end and tackle.
After a quietly productive season, Hargrove will again serve as a jack-of-all-trades on the defensive line for defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, lining up at both defensive tackle and defensive end.
Hargrove, returning from suspension, will provide the Saints with depth at the defensive end position. With Charles Grant and Will Smith likely serving their own respective four game suspensions at the beginning of the year, Hargrove could see some starts. Despite this, his appeal to fantasy owners is limited.
Hargrove will see playing time this year, but will be overshadowed by the bigger names on the Bills' defensive line. Basically, the Bills like him because he's can play end or tackle and he has ties to some members of the coaching staff from his Rams days, but he's just a spare part of a team that does a lot of rotating on its D-Line, and 20-30 tackles and 2-3 sacks seem like what's to be expected.
Hargrove came into the league a rather raw athletic talent and is showing signs that he’s converting his potential into real live football skills. Certainly making 43 solo tackles is an excellent sign that he’s learning to read run plays and take effective angles to the ball. He also flashed his explosiveness by making 4.5 sacks in the last three games of the year. All told, Hargove was just off the lineman year-end top 20 and will surely arrive with just a smidge of improvement. With tackles LaRoi Glover, Jimmy Kennedy and 2006 draft pick Claude Wroten in the fold, Hargrove and linemate Leonard Little should be freed up to show their skills. The external conditions are there–now it’s up to what Hargrove can do with the opportunity as he starts at right defensive end in 2006.
This is supposed to be Hargrove`s coming out party as a starting DE in the league but teammate Green is pushing him for the starting spot.
