The Chiefs signed Sams this offseason to be their return specialist, but he’s been unable to stay healthy the last two seasons and will face heavy competition from rookie Kevin Robinson.

Sams is still the main return specialist in Baltimore, but the Ravens are grooming their blazing fast rookie Yamon Figurs for this role. Either way, the Ravens' return game will be in good hands.

In 2004 returner B.J. Sams came from nowhere to electrify the Ravens. The speedster scored a touchdown in three consecutive games before admittedly hitting the rookie wall down the stretch. Although he needs to take care of the football better (five fumbles, two lost last season), Sams enters 2005 as one of the better kick returners in football. The strong Ravens defense should give him plenty of punt-return opportunities.
