RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Matt Roth.
Roth will compete for a starting OLB spot after finishing the 2009 campaign strong with four sacks in the final six games. Look for him to show some flashes of potential, but he will likely lack the consistency one looks for in an IDP candidate.
With the addition of Jason Taylor, Roth may lose snaps in passing situations, he should however still retain his starting status.
Roth will serve as one of Miami's starting defensive ends. He has compiled 6.5 sacks over the last two seasons and could match that total this year with more playing time available after Jason Taylor's departure.
He'll be a backup, but with Jason Taylor and Kevin Carter getting older, Roth could be rotated in more often in 2006.
