RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Madison Hedgecock.
Starting fullback - will block, but won't touch the ball much.
Starting fullback won't see a lot of touches, but does a fine job opening holes in the running game.
Starting fullback who rarely touches the ball.
Hedgecock is the only FB listed on the club's official roster but it's possible rookie Brian Leonard will be given a chance to compete for the starting job. Either way, whoever wins the starting FB job isn't expected to have any fantasy relevance unless "blocks made on defensive ends and linebackers" is a statistical category in your fantasy league.
Hedgecock will be the Rams' No. 2 fullback behind veteran Paul Smith. Hedgecock is a good blocker, has adequate hands, and is excellent in special teams coverage. Unfortunately for him catches and carries for fullbacks are few and far between in head coach Scott Linehan's system. That means Madison won't become a fantasy factor even if Smith goes down because Steven Jackson and Stephen Davis are going to get the short yardage carries while Smith and Hedgecock do all the dirty work.
