Will start the season on injured reserve. The backup center/guard will eventually provide some depth for a thin Cowboys offensive line.
Cook should provide Miami with depth along the offensive line if he makes the team.
A converted center, Cook will also provide depth at tackle as a backup this season.
Ryan Cook started in 14 games for the Vikings at right tackle in 2008. The Vikings usually ran to the much stronger left side of the line and rookie Phil Loadholt was drafted to possibly take Cook's starting spot. Cook periodically struggled last year and although Cook has the experience in the competition, Loadholt has the size advantage.
Cook will start at right tackle, the weaker side of Minnesota's offensive line.
Cook will start at right tackle for the Vikings after starting two games for them at that position in 2006.
Cook will provide depth if Matt Birk can’t return after missing last season due to injuries.
