RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Shaun Smith.
The Chiefs signed Smith in March, reuniting him with defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, who was Smith's head coach when the two were both in Cleveland. Smith's 325-pound bulk could make him a factor in the nose tackle rotation, but he hasn't produced any significant stats in the last two years and deserves no IDP consideration.
Played a fair amount in 2008 when he wasn't injured, but not enough to be considered a true IDP candidate. Expect the same in 2009.
Should stay in the mix of rotating defensive lineman in the Browns' 3-4 system, but playing time could go down after the team added Corey Williams and Shaun Rogers in the offseason.
Will compete for starting nose tackle position with the Browns.
