Chris Jones: Past News Updates ( ▲ View most recent update )
Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said Jones was caught in a numbers game and they opted to stick with third-year pro Terrell McClain. Jones would not have been this productive in New England had it not been for season-ending injuries to Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly. He's certainly had his struggles as a rookie -- opponents have been able to run up the middle against New England -- but he's competed hard and played every defensive snap in last week's overtime win over Denver.
RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Chris Jones.
Jones, who notched 25 tackles and three sacks in 15 games for the Patriots last season, is largely off the IDP radar, but figures to remain a part of the team's defensive line rotation in 2015.
Recorded 54 tackles and six sacks for the Patriots in 2013 while helping fill the void created by injuries to Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly last season. He returns to provide defensive tackle depth.
Jones was a sixth-round pick of the Texans in the 2013 draft. He's expected to compete for a backup nose tackle job along with Terrell McClain, formerly a third-round pick by Carolina in 2011.
