Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)The writing for this move had been on the wall for a while. Henderson, who finished second on the team in tackles in 2013 with 112 (69 solo), was arrested on suspicion of DUI on New Year's Day. It was his second DUI arrest in less than two months. The character issues will likely scare many teams off, but Henderson is still just 27 and figures to get a chance somewhere.
Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)The rosters of all 32 teams are frozen until the playoffs conclude with the Super Bowl, but after a second DUI arrest in less than two months, there is little doubt that Henderson's days as a Viking have come to an end. He finished the season back in the starting lineup due to Audie Cole's high ankle sprain, with 112 tackles (69 solo) in 14 games his most significant contribution to IDP pursuits in 2013.
RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Henderson is expected to start at middle linebacker. He is a productive tackler when he is able to stay on the field. He logged a career-high 80 tackles and 3.0 sacks in 2012 across 14 games.
Henderson will start at the weak-side linebacker spot after taking over the job in 2011. He puts up decent tackle totals, but doesn't rush the quarterback which limits his value in IDP formats.
Henderson is the leading candidate to start at weakside linebacker with the Vikings apparently not likley to re-sign Ben Leber.
Henderson will backup Chad Greenway on the depth chart, and will contribute on special teams. In ten games last season, Henderson had 15 tackles.
Henderson will attempt to make Minnesota's 53-man roster as a backup linebacker, and his chances certainly won't be hurt by the fact that he is the younger brother of the Vikings' top linebacker E.J. Henderson.
