Christian Ponder has shown limited signs of growth in his three NFL seasons and may not be the long-term solution at quarterback. If available, could Johnny Manziel be on the Vikings' radar at pick No. 8?

Erin Henderson: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

Henderson was arrested in a western Twin Cities suburb on New Year's Day on suspicion of DUI, Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

The rosters of all 32 teams are frozen until the playoffs conclude with the Super Bowl, but after a second DUI arrest in less than two months, there is little doubt that Henderson's days as a Viking have come to an end. He finished the season back in the starting lineup due to Audie Cole's high ankle sprain, with 112 tackles (69 solo) in 14 games his most significant contribution to IDP pursuits in 2013.
Henderson had 12 total tackles in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.

Henderson will move to become a reserve middle linebacker and won't move back to weak-side linebacker after losing the Vikings' starting middle linebacker job, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Audie Cole will take over the starting middle linebacker role. Henderson lost the job amid his recent arrest for DWI and possession of a controlled substance, but it sounds like the coaching staff also used the incident as an excuse to move Cole into the starting role.
Henderson will suit up, but not start, Sunday against the Bears, 1500 ESPN Twin Cities reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

On Nov. 19, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Henderson was arrested on suspicion of DWI and possession of a controlled substance. He was thereafter absent from practice and held out of Week 12's tie at Green Bay, as he dealt with a "personal matter." In his place, Audie Cole will start at middle linebacker, and it's currently unknown exactly how many snaps coach Leslie Frazier will hand over to Henderson, who remains in a tie for 10th among the league's leaders in tackles.
Henderson (personal) is unlikely to start Sunday against the Bears, Sean Jensen of K-TWIN reports.

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

Subscribe now to see our 2013 outlook.

2012

Henderson will start at the weak-side linebacker spot after taking over the job in 2011. He puts up decent tackle totals, but doesn't rush the quarterback which limits his value in IDP formats.

2011

Henderson is the leading candidate to start at weakside linebacker with the Vikings apparently not likley to re-sign Ben Leber.

2009

Henderson will backup Chad Greenway on the depth chart, and will contribute on special teams. In ten games last season, Henderson had 15 tackles.

2008

Henderson will attempt to make Minnesota's 53-man roster as a backup linebacker, and his chances certainly won't be hurt by the fact that he is the younger brother of the Vikings' top linebacker E.J. Henderson.
