After spending his first five NFL seasons with the Bengals, Sims joined the Raiders in 2013 and went on to record a career-high 54 tackles (41 solo) and two sacks, and he even intercepted a pass believe it or not. He'll return to his starting role at defensive tackle in 2014, but the modest sack totals keep Sims from entering the IDP discussion, outside the absolute deepest of leagues.
After five seasons in Cincinnati, Sims signed with Oakland in March in hopes of returning to a starting role. A lingering injury (the nature of which is uncertain) cost the 6-4, 315-pound defensive tackle most of the first few weeks of training camp, but if Sims can get healthy ahead of the regular season, he stands a good chance of starting for the Raiders.
Sims is coming off an ankle injury, but will provide depth for the Bengals along the defensive line this season.
Sims took over a starting job over the second half of the season in 2008 as a rookie and projects to be a huge run-stopping presence in the middle.
Sims will serve as one of the Bengals' primary backups at the defensive tackle position and could see a decent amount of playing time in his rookie season.
