Thomas Brown: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

With Harry Douglas (torn ACL) out for the season, Brown is a likely candidate to take over the punt return duties for the Falcons in 2009, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Brown's main competition for the job is Jerious Norwood, who will back up Michael Turner and return kicks this season. However, with Turner coming off a 300+ carry season in 2009, all Falcons running backs need to be on guard in case "The Burner" suffers any injuries or fatigue issues in the upcoming season. Brown missed all of 2008 with a groin injury that landed him on the injured reserve before the season started.

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Thomas Brown.

2009

Brown was slated to take over kick-return and possibly punt-return jobs in 2008, but a groin injury forced him to the IR before the season even started. The same promise returns in 2009, especially because the Falcons would rather not use Jerious Norwood on special teams anymore.

2008

Brown was an impact player on Georgia's SEC East Championship run, and could play a third-down back role in 2008 behind Michael Turner. His speed also gives him a shot at a kick returner spot, but he'll have to beat out fellow RB Jerious Norwood in training camp for that role.
