The Lions have plenty of depth along the front four, so it won't be easy for Jones to make much of an impact. He's well down the depth chart entering training camp.
A big defensive tackle who is should be a serious contributor in 2011. He is coming off a solid 2010 season where he led the team with 12 tackles for loss and 26 quarterback pressures, also adding a career-high 61 tackles.
Jones is a talented pass rusher who will get plenty of snaps, but remains a backup defensive end going into his third year.
Jones had a fairly productive rookie season in 2008, accumulating 49 tackles and five sacks for the Titans. He'll look to improve on his numbers as a backup defensive tackle in 2009.
Jones has been a backup defensive lineman so far in his career but with the relocation of Albert Haynesworth, it appears that he will become a starter in 2009.
