RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014

There was no outlook written for Tyrell Johnson.

2012

Did not impress during OTAs and may be nothing more than a special teams player this season if he makes the team.

2011

Johnson is seen as the early favorite to replace Madieu Williams at free safety, but it's a close competition with Jamarca Sanford and 2011 sixth-round pick Mistral Raymond. The 2008, second-round pick has been seen as a bust so far since he hasn't been able to win a prominent role, but Johnson could have value in deeper IDP leagues if he wins the job.

2009

Johnson, a 2008 second round pick, will move into the starting role at strong safety with the departure of Darren Sharper.

2008

Johnson has solid potential for the future but will find playing time tough to come by in 2008 with Darren Sharper and Madieu Williams entrenched as the starting safeties.
