ANALYSIS
Beckum spent his first three seasons with the Giants; however, his career took a downward turn in New York's 2012 Super Bowl victory, when Beckum suffered a torn ACL in the second quarter. Since then, Beckhum has spent time on injured reserve, in addition to being signed by the Seahawks last February. Ultimately, Beckum couldn't stick with Seattle, who released him in May. Now, Beckum will aim to show the Saints' coaching staff he is healthy enough to merit a roster spot.

Beckum is returning from a torn ACL and is likely to be placed on the in-season PUP list. When he returns, he could challenge Martellus Bennett for the pass-catching tight end role, but Beckum has had trouble staying healthy for any length of time thus far in his career.
Beckum has pass-catching skills, but he's simply not been used all that much while backing up Kevin Boss. With Boss off to Oakland, Beckum will get his chance this year, although with a number of talented wide receivers on the roster, plus his lesser talent, it's difficult to think he will match Boss' production.
Beckum will back up Kevin Boss - he has some upside as a pass catcher if Boss goes down, but will probably be eased into a bigger role otherwise.
Rookie tight end should fill an H-Back role and has the receiving skills to be a factor in the offense out of the gate. Kevin Boss is still the starter, but could see more work as a blocker with Beckum around.
