Marks signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Wednesday, Max Meyer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Marks, who had 8.5 sacks with the Jaguars as recently as 2014, isn't guaranteed a roster spot and will need to compete for a role at defensive tackle behind starters DeForest Buckner and Earl Mitchell.

Marks tore his ACL in December, putting his availability for the start of the 2015 season in question. Once Marks returns, he will start at defensive tackle.
After signing a four-year deal in December, Marks will open the year as a starter at defensive tackle. In 16 games last season, he recorded 34 combined tackles and 4.0 sacks.
Marks will compete for playing time on the defensive line after recording 41 tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Titans last season.
Marks is coming off a rookie season with very little playing time. He is expected to compete for a starting spot on the interior of the defensive line, but is also coming off of a shoulder injury.
Marks goes into his sophmore season as a backup tackle on a deep defensive line.
Marks, a great athlete who had a nice college career at Auburn, will likely be a key contributor in the defensive line rotation as the Titans' backup right defensive tackle.
