RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Jasper Brinkley.
Pencilled in as the team's starting middle linebacker, Casillas could be a nice source of tackles in the team's 4-3 alignment, especially with the addition of run clogger Damon Harrison up front.
Brinkley recorded 74 tackles and a sack in 16 games (11 starts) for the Vikings in 2014, and is expected to be the starter at middle linebacker for the Cowboys while Rolando McClain begins the season serving a four-game suspension.
Brinkley, who recorded 27 tackles in 15 games with the Cardinals last season, returned to Minnesota in the offseason, where he played the first four seasons of his career. He'll compete with Audie Cole for the starting middle linebacker role in the preseason.
Brinkley is likely to begin the season as Minnesota's starting middle linebacker. He may come out on nickel packages, but he could emerge as an IDP option in deeper leagues. However, we'll need to see if he can stay healthy as he missed all of last season after hip surgery and a groin injury held him out of minicamp.
Will provide depth at middle linebacker and could start in case of injury.
The hard hitting Brinkley will backup E.J. Henderson at the middle linebacker position. Brinkley won't play much with Henderson stuck in front of him but he will contribute on special teams and in various spot roles.
