Martin was signed as a free agent this past March. Over his last two seasons in San Diego he had 66 tackles and two sacks in 28 games. He will provide the team with depth at defensive tackle.
Martin enters 2012 as the starter at right defensive end, but he will probably be pushed for playing time by rookie Kendall Reyes. Martin has one sack in each of the last two seasons.
Martin projects as Luis Castillo's primary backup at defensive end and will probably see a few snaps every week in relief.
Martin will likely only serve as depth at the very end of the defensive line depth chart.
