2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bennett is better, and more valuable to the Seahawks, than he gets credit for. Because of a thin D-Line, he played nearly 200 more snaps last season than in 2013, which likely sapped his effectiveness...

Bennett agreed to a deal with the Seahawks on Monday, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

As expected, Bennett didn't allow any hometown discount, as his four-year deal is worth $32 million, with $16 million of that guaranteed. He would have been one of the most highly sought-after defensive ends on the free-agent market after his 2013 campaign, in which he accumulated 8.5 sacks and 31 combined tackles. However, he'll remain in Seattle, where he'll be a key component in containing Colin Kaepernick of the division-rival 49ers.
Though Bennett has indicated a preference to re-sign with the Seahawks, he is not inclined to take a hometown discount to facilitate that, the Seattle times reports. "There is no such thing as discount. This is not Costco, this is not Walmart this is real life," Bennett said Tuesday.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

"It's definitely a business," Bennett also noted. "People hate to say it's that, but it is what it is. I would love to play for the Seahawks, but they're going to have to want me back and the numbers are going to have to be right." Bennett is in line to be one of the top available defensive ends once free agency kicks in, after a season in which he notched a team-high 8.5 sacks for Seattle, while also recording 31 tackles.
Bennett wishes to remain in Seattle as he enters free agency this offseason, The Herald reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Bennett led the Seahawks with 8.5 sacks during the regular season and continued his strong play throughout the playoffs, recording 1.5 more sacks and a pair of both fumbles forced and recovered. Coming off a Super Bowl victory, Bennett should fetch significant interest during free agency, but has made it known he would like to extend his time as a Seahawk beyond just last season. Speaking on his status as a free agent, Bennett said, "...Im definitely a Seahawk and I definitely want to be here for the rest of my career.
Bennett (quad) is listed as active Sunday versus the Titans, the Everett Herald reports.

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2015

Subscribe now to see our 2015 outlook.

2014

Bennett recorded 31 tackles, 8.5 sacks and a fumble recovery for a touchdown during his first season in Seattle. Those numbers were actually down from his output while he with the Buccaneers, but that's likely due to how good the Seahawks' defense is as a whole, rather than a decline in Bennett's skill. He'll have a great chance to be starting on the end of the 4-3 and will have an opportunity to put up similar numbers to that of his 2013 season.

2013

The Seahawks signed Bennett in March in hopes of improving a pass rush that was insufficient last season. Bennett will play behind Red Bryant at left defensive end and likely won't see enough snaps to be a weekly IDP option. He has a torn rotator cuff, but the Seahawks are confident he'll be able to play through it.

2011

Though he is currently listed atop the depth chart at Right DE, he will probably wind up as a backup eventually. Bennett can play DL or DE so he is a versatile player for the team as a backup.
