RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Brian Moorman.
Moorman is still penciled in as the starter, but the 14-year veteran isn't getting any younger and his average yards per punt has gone down each of the past three seasons. UPDATE: Released by the Bills in August.
Moorman will look to unseat Drew Butler as punter in 2013.
Moorman is one of the NFL's best punters going back several years, a fact even more impressive given the crazy climate he kicks in. He was fifth in the NFL last season with a 48.3 yard average, though he wasn't quite as deadly with kicks inside the 20 as in the past, with 20 for the season. He also had his second ever NFL kick blocked. Still, he's one of the best in the business and given his high level of athleticism which has led to some tackles and trick plays, some may argue he's the league's best all-around punter.
One of the better punters in the NFL for years -- if not the best considering where he kicks -- Moorman had an off year by his standards in 2010. But on average, he'll punt at about a 43/44-yard average and a 39-yard net. There are not many other punters in the world who would be able to do that in Buffalo's unfriendly climate.
