RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Matt Slauson.
A paragon of health after starting all 16 games in each of his previous four seasons, Slauson was banged up throughout 2014. He missed three contests in the first quarter of the season due to an injury, then was sidelined from Week 8 on after suffering a torn right pectoral muscle. The mauling left guard was back healthy for the Bearsí offseason program, putting him in line to reclaim his starting gig and aid the teamís ground game.
A key addition to the offensive line last offseason, Slauson is expected to serve as the starting left guard once again for the Bears. He isn't an athletic specimen, but his physicality and smarts make him an asset in run-blocking and pass protection.
Signed to a one-year deal in March, the physical but athletically-limited Slauson will man the left guard spot for the Bears following three seasons as a starter at the position with the Jets.
Will resume duties as the Jets' starting left guard
