RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Da'Quan Bowers.
In four seasons with the team, Bowers has played in 50 games and recorded seven career sacks. He will provide some depth along the defensive line, though it remains to be seen how many snaps he will see in 2015.
Bowers, a former starter and highly regarded young player, has been disappointing so far in his three previous years in the league, especially his brutal injury-marred 2013 season of only seven tackles and one sack in 13 games played. Bowers is in danger of not making the Bucs team in 2014 unless he has a strong offseason showing.
Bowers' fantasy value for 2013 has been put on hold until his legal situation figures itself out.
As Tampa Bay's second-round draft choice in 2011, Bowers made just 25 tackles (22 solo) and 1.5 sacks during his rookie campaign. The 22-year-old will be out indefinitely with a torn achilles tendon after starting 10 games and appearing in all 16 in 2011. He hasn't been placed on IR yet so there is an outside chance he makes an apperance in 2012 but its tough blow as Bowers was scheduled start at DE in 2012 for the Bucs.
Bowers could be the steal of the 2011 Draft if he is healthy. He at one time was considered the possible No.1 overall pick for the 2011 draft but slipped to the 2nd Round. due to major injury concerns. If those injury issues don't prove to be true or at least not that serious then Bowers could start at DE right away and make a lot of team sorry they passed on him.
