Wilson signed with the Cowboys on Tuesday, ESPNDallas.com reports.

ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Wilson will head to Dallas to provide some depth at defensive end in the Cowboys' 4-3 scheme. The 24-year-old doesn't have much experience as a down lineman, as he's been a linebacker to this point, but it seems the Cowboys want to utilize his pass-rushing ability.

Depth defensive end bounced between the Saints, Raiders and Cowboys last season.

With Victor Butler and Will Smith both out for the season, Wilson is expected to start at outside linebacker in the Saints' new 3-4 defense. Wilson is a young and athletic prospect who could thrive as a pass rush specialist. If he can hold down the starting job, Wilson is interesting sleeper in IDP leagues.

The Saints have decided to give Wilson a try at defensive end this offseason in an attempt to utilize his speed, particularly with the Saints having completely filled their needs at linebacker. With Will Smith suspended for the first four games of the season and Cameron Jordan underachieving badly last season, Wilson's progress at his new position is worth monitoring this offseason to see if he can make a impact with the Saints in desperate need of a pass rush.

The speedy Wilson is expected to compete for a starting spot at outside linebacker after being drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
