Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)Thomas spent last year's training camp with the Panthers and then part of the season with the Jets, Lions and Seahawks, but appeared in just four games and recorded a total of two tackles. He did have a solid couple seasons in Carolina, but has struggled to find work recently. Thomas enters a Vikings secondary with Xavier Rhodes and Terence Newman likely starting at the cornerback positions, so it looks as though he's going to occupy a reserve role once again.
Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)Thomas' signing comes in wake of fellow cornerback Dee Milliner being ruled out for the season with a torn Achilles. After being cut by the Panthers following this year's preseason, Thomas played three games for the Seahawks before his release last week. Nonetheless, he'll add depth to a Jets' secondary in need of help.
RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Josh Thomas.
Thomas spent last season with the Jets and Seahawks but appeared in just four games and recorded a total of two tackles. He did have a solid couple seasons in Carolina, but he has struggled to find work as of late. He now enters a Vikings secondary with Xavier Rhodes and Terence Newman likely starting at the cornerback positions, so it looks as if Thomas is going to serve another small role in Minnesota.
Thomas won a starting cornerback position ahead of last season, but lackluster performances resulted in him dropping down the depth chart as the campaign unfolded. Ultimately, he started six games and finished with 28 tackles (21 solo) and one interception.
Made 35 tackles (27 solo) as a reserve cornerback last season and earned a starting position during the 2013 preseason.
Will provide depth at cornerback.
Fifth-round pick will provide some CB depth for the Cowboys
