Maxwell (calf) is expected to miss one or two weeks after suffering a calf injury Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.

Maxwell was initially feared to have suffered a serious ankle injury but fortunately escaped such a setback. Instead, the cornerback is dealing with a calf injury that might just sideline him a couple weeks. If that proves true, Marcus Burley is expected to start opposite Richard Sherman for the Seahawks, with DeShawn Shead filling the nickel role.
Maxwell suffered a calf injury during Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, Liz Mathews of ESPN 710 Seattle reports.

Maxwell, who started Monday because of suspensions to cornerbacks Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond, had two tackles and two passes defensed in the Seahawks' dominating victory against the Saints.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

The third-string corner did not miss a beat in the Seahawks secondary. Seattle plays a lot of man coverage, and Maxwell more than held his own against one of the league's best offenses. The Seahawks also helped him in zone coverage with double-teams on Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, who only caught three of nine targets. What's more, the Seahawks held the New Orleans offense to 188 total yards, the fewest in the Drew Brees/Sean Payton era, and held Brees to a mere 3.86 yards per attempt, his lowest mark since 2003. The Seahawks also snapped Brees' streak of 43 consecutive games with at least 200 passing yards. Maxwell will continue to start at cornerback, but the road does not get any easier with the San Francisco 49ers up next.
