Coach Mike McCarthy announced Monday that Tolzien will start at quarterback in the Packers' Week 12 matchup with the Vikings, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

There was an outside shot that Aaron Rodgers could return from his collarbone injury in Week 12, but Monday's announcement indicates that Rodgers will miss at least one more game. Tolzien has an unsightly 1:5 TD:INT ratio in the two games in which he's appeared, but he's averaged over 300 yards per game and will have a favorable Week 12 matchup against a Vikings team that is ranked 29th in pass defense, while giving up a league-high 23 passing touchdowns.
Tolzien completed 24-of-39 pass attempts for 339 yards with three interceptions in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Giants. He also rushed for 11 yards on two carries.

Tolzien will be the Packers' starting quarterback next Sunday against the Giants, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Tolzien, who was promoted to the Packers' active roster just this week, was forced into Sunday's action, after fellow quarterback Seneca Wallace suffered a groin injury early on. Despite his inexperience, Tolzien showed a few promising glimpses in the passing game and finished completing 24-of-39 throws for 280 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Sunday's loss. Although unspectacular, that performance was enough for head coach Mike McCarthy to declare Tolzien Green Bay's starter next week, when the Packers travel to New York for their second complete game without Aaron Rodgers (collarbone). Should Tolzien play well against the Giants, it's likely the quarterback job would be his to lose until Rodgers is able to return.
Tolzien completed 23-of-39 passes for 280 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions Sunday against the Eagles. He also ran once for 19 rushing yards.
