Gray (undisclosed) has reached an injury settlement with the Falcons, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what sort of injury Gray is nursing, but he'll now hit the free-agent market. Atlanta now rosters a foursome of Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman, Terron Ward (ankle) and Brandon Wilds (knee) at running back.

Gray signed a futures deal with Denver in February after not playing in 2015. He has totaled just 99 yards on 24 carries in three professional seasons, all with the Chiefs. While he might still have fuel in the tank at just 26 years old, Gray finds himself competing with five other backs all 25 and younger.
Gray entered 2014 buried on the depth chart behind Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis and De’Anthony Thomas, but an early season injury to Thomas kept him in the mix for touches briefly. He carried the ball eight times in the first three weeks of the season for 31 yards and a touchdown, but that was it for the season. Serving as a key cog on special teams in 2014, Gray’s season was shortened by an ACL tear, which will cut into his availability for part of 2015 as well. Following his release from the Chiefs, he'll also need to hope he can find work elsewhere, but his special teams prowess could make him an option for teams in need.
Gray has all the tools to be a well-rounded running back in the NFL, yet he has only 16 carries and nine receptions in his career thus far. It's mostly due to the talent of Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis who remain above him on the depth chart.
Gray could end up being fourth on the Chiefs' depth chart with Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis, and Shaun Draughn on the roster.
Gray, a rookie sixth-round pick, should be able to make the 53-man active roster as the third running back behind Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis. Though he's not an especially big back, he's an excellent athlete with good vision and he could thrive in offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's running scheme if injuries open up an opportunity.
