The Texans are expected to sign Keenum off the Rams' practice squad, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Keenum will be on the active roster for the final two weeks of the season. The decision to sign him comes on the heels of Ryan Fitzpatrick getting knocked out of Sunday's loss to the Colts with a leg injury. Fitzpatrick's replacement, rookie Tom Savage, also suffered a knee injury, the severity of which will be determined when he undergoes an MRI on Monday. If Savage were to be out of action, Thad Lewis would be the last man standing at quarterback. Hence, the reasoning behind the team's decision to hire Keenum. He has history with the Texans, having participated with them in training camp before being released in the final cuts.
The Rams waived Keenum on Tuesday, NFL.com reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Keenum was released to open a roster spot for Mark Barron, who was acquired from the Buccaneers. Keenum did not appear in a game with the Rams, but he received eight starts with the Texans last season and still has practice-squad eligibility remaining, so he will likely hook on with someone in the near future.

2014

2013

Keenum will serve as Houston's third quarterback in 2013 season, playing behind Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates.

2012

Keenum signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Houston where he led the nation in yards (5,631) and touchdowns (48) in 2011. He enters training camp needing to adjust to life under center in the NFL and will compete with John Beck to be Houston's third-string quarterback. After starter Matt Schaub, the Texans get pretty young at the position. Probably younger than a conference-title contender wants to be, which may work in Beck's favor.
