RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Ben Jones.
Jones, who started some games at guard in 2014, will move to starting center after the team left Chris Myers let go in the offseason.
Jones was drafted out of college as a center, but has been used at both guard positions since being drafted by the Texans. He's started 11 games in the past two seasons and will be in the mix to start at left guard, which became an open competition after Wade Smith left for free agency.
Jones rotated in along on the offensive line at a few positions during his rookie season in 2012. That versatility will come in handy again this coming season, though the Texans view him as their starting center long-term.
Jones, a fourth-round draft pick in 2012, will be groomed to be Houston's next starting center, but will also get experience at guard.
